But After 8 Years of a traditional 1:1 acupuncture practice I felt like I was missing that mark. I found a couple of problems with the model:

1. Patients inability to afford more than a couple treatments, regardless of what I recommended.
2. Lack of appointment availability for acute problems
3. Feeling like it was excessive to have a 90 minute medical history and exam when the patient really needed a simple treatment to help with sinus pressure, elbow pain or stress.
4. Feeling like I was only serving a select group of patients while I watched other socioeconomic classes suffer.

These and many more reasons left me feeling frustrated and wondering if I was even making the impact I set out to make on my path as a healer. More importantly I was barely making enough money to support myself and my kids as a single mother, let alone ever dream about being able to afford to take time off.

I put my head down and got to work, utilizing a hybrid model my clinic put me in the position to more than double my income, win multiple awards, and finally be in a position to take time off.
